Origins
After a storage auction delivered a bunch of tackle boxes full of unopened hooks, lines, and sinkers from the 1960s, the inspiration for Retro Outdoor Tees was born. Not only were the graphics on the packaging super rad, but most were by companies which have long since gone under. Instead of let all this art sink into the depths forever, the decision was made to not only revive these brands, but discover and celebrate other outdoor companies who would otherwise be forgotten.
Printing
Our products are printed on demand (POD) by trusted vendors, which is why we are able to offer so many different items in a variety of colors and sizes. Our partners use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, which uses specialized inkjet technology to print directly onto fabric—think of it as a high-end inkjet printer, but for apparel. The water-based inks are absorbed and bonded with the fabric fibers, which creates a seamless print. Some key benefits of DTG are:
